ABOUT NIPUN LAKSHYA –

“NIPUN Lakshay” (National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy) is a mission under the National Education Policy 2020 in India, aiming to ensure that every child in the country acquires foundational literacy and numeracy by the end of Grade 3. In Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), the implementation of NIPUN Lakshay focuses on creating an environment that fosters the development of basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills in young students. Here are some key elements of NIPUN Lakshay within KVS:

1. **Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) Goals**: Establishing clear and measurable goals for students to achieve proficiency in reading with comprehension and basic numeracy skills by the end of Grade 3.
2. **Curriculum and Pedagogy**: Adapting and designing the curriculum to include activities and teaching methods that emphasize foundational skills. This includes phonics-based reading, storytelling, interactive activities, and practical arithmetic exercises.
